Made of nickel-plated hardened steel for superior strength, it has a squared end that can be gripped by most four-jaw lathe chucks, so no changeover is required. The other end features 3/8'' x 16 TPI threads for installing metal threaded inserts. Or use its fluted self-tapping tip to mount wood blanks with drilled holes. An included polyester washer prevents projects from overtightening during turning so they're easier to unscrew and remove.
