Narrow belt sander with auxiliary spindle lets you sand, grind, sharpen, buff and polish a wide variety of wood and metal projects—ideal for shaping knife blades!
Rikon Belt Knife Sharpener 50-272, 2'' x 72'', 1HP
This elongated stationary belt sander will help you sand wood, plus grind or sharpen metal tools and make knives. Solidly made with all-steel construction, it consists of a 1HP motor and an adjustable sanding belt arm for mounting 2'' x 72'' abrasive belts. There's also an 8''-long, 1" diameter threaded spindle for mounting your flap sanders, pneumatic sanders or buffing wheels. Use the cool-running abrasive belt in tandem with the belt's support platen and adjustable-angle tool rest for accurate sanding, shaping and grinding. The belt arm also rotates and can be set to any angle from 0° to 180°, front to back. Working against the 8'' rubber-faced lower drive wheel or above the platen along the belt's length allows for extra flexibility when shaping projects. The spring-loaded top idler wheel and large handles and knobs make changing and tracking the belt a fast and simple task.
Zirconia alumina 2'' x 72'' sanding belts in 36-, 60-, 80- and 120-grit (#77808, #76735, #70583 and #79786) that fit this sharpener are all sold separately. Spiral-sewn 8'' cotton buffing wheels (#74167 and #76385) are also sold separately.
