Two Cherries HSS Roughing Gouge

Two Cherries Square Roughing Gouges are crafted from top-quality high speed steel for optimal performance on the lathe. The scooped cutting edge of each gouge is carefully forged and heat-treated in a salt immersion bath for a Rockwell Hardness of 61C. Each is then fitted with a sturdy hornbeam handle that's 9-3/8'' long for leverage and stability. Due to the hardness of the steel, sharpening may take an extra few minutes, but the turning tool will hold an edge significantly longer than just about any other brand on the market. Made in Germany in a family run factory that's been producing quality woodworking tools since 1858.
