Gent's tools were originally developed for ''gentleman's'' tool kits, intended for those who wanted good-quality tools for occasional work but didn't need full-size equipment. This Veritas version has a 7-7/8''-long high-carbon steel blade that is just 0.015'' thick with 0.003'' of teeth set per side. Its teeth have a 14° rake angle and a 60° included angle. It cuts to a depth of 1-5/8''. For strength and rigidity, the glass and stainless steel-filled polymer spine is molded over the blade and handle stud. The 4-1/4''-long hardwood handle is secured with a brass nut. Made in Canada.
