A true rosewood variety from the Dalbergia genus, Kingwood ranks among the densest of all rosewoods. It has a dark, reddish brown heartwood interspersed with black streaks and hints of purple. Its fine texture and natural luster make for a smooth feel in the hand. Despite its extreme density, it turns well with sharp tools, and takes a high polish. It is very stiff, strong, and stable.
