The 14|CX bandsaw features knob-actuated electronic variable speed that allows fast cuts in wood and ferrous metals—cast iron wheels are quickly stopped by the patented disc brake.
The Dake/Laguna 14CX Bandsaw improves upon the well-loved 14BX with game-changing electronic variable speed, adjusted by a knob and digital read-out conveniently located on the bandsaw's column. Easy speed changes mean the ability to easily switch between cutting wood and cutting ferrous metals like steel, iron and stainless steel—all are easy fare for the 14CX. The 14CX also features solid cast iron wheels that pack the momentum needed to keep the blade moving through demanding materials, plus a patented disc brake that stops the blade and those heavy wheels almost instantaneously once the machine is shut down. With 13'' of resaw capacity and 13-5/8'' of throat depth, it has the capacity you need for almost any woodworking or metalworking task.
Laguna Bandsaw 14|CX Details:
Speed control knob changes the speed on the fly if needed, meaning that you can increase or decrease speed during the cut to optimize the performance of the blade in the specific material being cut
Digital readout provides quick, easy reference for setting the blade speed for the specific blade and material being used
2-step pulley provides a mechanical High and Low range—the belt position should be set first and then the final speed should be set by turning the speed control knob
Poly-groove drive belt prevents slipping even when cutting the toughest materials
Electronic speed control is provided by the PWM system (pulse width modulation) which uses an inverter to control the output to the powerful DC motor
Balanced cast-iron wheels provide plenty of inertia to drive the blade through the material
Ceramic guides have a total of 10 contact points above and below the workpiece for precise cuts
Foot brake system uses a larger brake disc to provide more stopping power to handle the higher speeds and additional inertia of the heavier pulleys
Dual dust collection ports provide collection just under the table surface and lower guides as well as collection at the bottom of the cabinet
Table tilts both toward the inside and the outside of the saw to make accurate beveled cuts
Clear windows make blade tracking and blade tensioning easy
Magnetic tensioning indicator is easy to adjust for all types of blades
Blade tension is set by using the convenient handwheel—quick-release handle de-tensions the blade when the saw is not in use
Hi/Low fence is easily changed from the High Position (used for resawing and most thicker materials) and the Low Position (used for thinner stock or when making thin cuts)
Worm-drive rack and pinion upper guidepost is easily positioned and locked in place to fit the size of the materials being cut
Comes standard with a Laguna Bi-Metal ½” x 10/14 Variable TPI Blade
