Leopardwood exhibits a deep reddish-brown color with a distinctively flecked grain pattern that is caused by the wood's prominent medullary rays. Quartersawn sections of the pen blank will showcase the most spotted figuring. It is straight-grained with medium-coarse texture and takes a very nice finish. With sharp tools, this dense wood turns beautifully.
