Just thread it into the hole on the side of the chuck collar, located on the system's tool handle, to add lateral stability that prevents the handle from twisting during use. Depending on how you have the cutter shaft installed in the chuck's forward alignment holes, this side handle can be positioned to the left or right to suit your preference.
