Bores perfectly centered holes for shelf pins or metal shelf pin sleeves when using our Shelf Pin Drilling Jig (#74448, sold separately)—special tip grind cuts cleanly.
These high-quality bits help you drill holes for shelf pins or the metal sleeves that fit them when using our Shelf Pin Drilling Jig (#74448, sold separately). Their spring-loaded housing features a high-speed steel bit with a special tip grind that minimizes tearout. A 90° shoulder reduces the end of the housing to 3/8'' O.D., so it fits snugly into the guide holes of the jig template for perfectly centered hole placement. During drilling, the white nylon bushing on the shoulder remains stationary while the bit spins, to protect the jig plate from possible scratches and friction damage.
The 5mm and 1/4'' drill bits (#75878 and #76583) are exact replacements for the bits that come standard with the Shelf Pin Drilling Jig. The 7/32'' and 9/32'' bits (#76765 and #79433) drill holes for optional metal sleeves (#GRP41610 and #GRP41613, sold separately) that fit 5mm or 1/4'' shelf pins.
Rockler Self-Centering Shelf Pin Drill Bit Details:

High-speed steel drill bit has a modified tip grind to bore holes with clean rims
Nylon bushing helps to square the bit with the jig and protect the jig plate during drilling
#75878 and #76583 are exact replacements for the 5mm and 1/4'' bits that are included with the Shelf Pin Drilling Jig
7/32'' bit (#76765) drills holes for metal sleeves (#GRP41610, sold separately) that fit 5mm shelf pins
