Whether your axe requires a concave (hollow), flat or convex bevel, the AX-40 Axe Jig and your Tormek machine can give it a keen edge that's easy to produce. The jig works with single-edged hatchets, carpenter's axes, carving and broad axes. Its composite jaws have six rubber cushions on the inside faces that contact the head when you tighten it, to hold the axe securely. When you position the jig against the universal support on the Tormek machine, four curved studs on the outer faces provide both stops and swivel points for rotating the axe head consistently on the sharpening stone to grind and sharpen it. Their design lets you follow the unique contour of your axe's edge as well as create convex, concave or flat bevel profiles. Flipping the jig over allows you to sharpen both bevels uniformly without removing and reinstalling the axe in the jig.
