The color of Canarywood can vary from pale yellow or orange to a rich reddish brown, usually interspersed with darker streaks. More often than not, a single blank will have a combination of several or all of these colors. The grain is usually straight, with a banded appearance that contributes to the rainbow effect. Over time, the colors will tend to darken and blend. Thanks to its uniformly fine texture and nice natural luster, Canarywood is an excellent candidate for turning projects. It also boasts excellent stability and finishes nicely.
