Rikon Carbide Insert Cutters for Woodturning System

Made of long-lasting, premium micro-grain carbide, these insert cutters are designed specifically for use in a Rikon 4-Piece Woodturning System (#79313, sold separately). While they will cut through the hardest woods in either a scraping or shear-cutting mode, these cutters should be used primarily for final shaping and detailing operations. The variety of these cutter shapes will provide you with many options for creating inside and outside profiles, coves, beads and lines. When used for roughing out blanks, apply careful, slow cuts to the workpiece to avoid loosening the mounting screw or damaging the cutter from heavy impacts. This is particularly important for the diamond-shaped cutter options.

Note: Some cutters may include a dot on the top surface—it's simply a reference point to help you rotate the cutter to a new setting and keep track of the edges or portions of the edge that are dull.
