Similar in function to a pin chuck, these special 31mm extended jaws can be inserted into a pre-bored hole and then expanded, for a sure grip. This is also an especially useful holding method for bowls with a free form edge. A big advantage to their design is that you don't have to bore to an exact size hole—any size between the minimum and just under the maximum expansion of the jaws will do. At just under 1-1/4'' long, the jaw length allows for a powerful spigot grip for smaller work. They also have an external dovetail for mounting small bowls.
