It also expands the range of rabbets you can make beyond the pilot bit diameters that come with your rabbeting bit. The gauge consists of a stainless-steel rule with durable glass-reinforced plastic components and is clearly marked for easy use.

Setup involves just a few simple steps: Slide indicator A to match the bit's cutting diameter, then slide indicator B to your desired rabbet width. Slide indicator C to mark the rabbet's height. Once you've installed the bit and fit the shank diameter gauge around the bit's shank, you can set and lock the router table fence against the gauge's blue fence, marked ''Fence Face.'' Use the gauge's gray fence to adjust the bit's height, and your router table is ready to cut!
